1. LED size
0603, 0805, 1210, 5050 refer to the size (imperial/metric) of the light-emitting components used on LED strips – LEDs. The following is a detailed introduction to these specifications.
0603: Converted to metric, it is 1005, which means the length of the LED component is 1.0mm and the width is 0.5mm. The industry abbreviation is 1005, and the English name is 0603.
0805: Converted to metric, it is 2125, which means the length of the LED component is 2.0mm and the width is 1.25mm. The industry abbreviation is 2125, and the English name is 0805.
1210: Converted to metric, it is 3528, which means the length of the LED component is 3.5mm and the width is 2.8mm. The industry abbreviation is 3528, and the English name is 1210.
5050: This is a metric term, which means the length of the LED component is 5.0mm and the width is 5.0mm. Industry abbreviation 5050.
2. Number of LED lights
15 lights, 30 lights, and 60 lights refer to how many LED components are soldered per meter of length on the LED strip. Generally, the 1210 specification strip has 60 LEDs per meter, the 5050 specification strip has 30 LEDs per meter, and there are special ones with 60 LEDs per meter. The price of LED strips varies depending on the number of LEDs, which is also an important factor in distinguishing the price of LED strips.
3. Color temperature
Generally speaking, color temperature is not used as an indicator to evaluate LED light strips, but many foreign customers may have special requirements due to their usage environment.
4.Brightness
Generally, LED light strips with different colors will have different luminous intensities, and the commonly used unit is mcd, which is millicandela. The higher the value, the greater the luminous intensity, that is, the brighter it is. This is an important indicator for evaluating the brightness of LED strips, and strips with higher brightness requirements are more expensive. This is because high brightness LED chips are relatively expensive, and the higher the brightness, the greater the difficulty of packaging.
5.Light emission angle
This refers to the emission angle of LED components on LED strips. Generally, the emission angle of SMD components, which are commonly used surface mount LEDs, is 120 °. The larger the angle of light emission, the better the scattering effect, but correspondingly, the brightness of its light emission also decreases. The angle of light emission is small, and the intensity of light increases, but the range of illumination will also decrease. Therefore, another important indicator for evaluating LED light strips is the angle of light emission.

6.Voltage
This refers to the input voltage of LED light strips, with commonly used specifications being 12V DC and some being 24V. There are 9 factors that affect the price of LED light strips, as follows.
① LED chip
Chips include chips made in China and Taiwan, China, as well as imported chips (including American chips, Japanese chips, German chips, etc.). Different chips result in significant price differences. At present, the most expensive chips are American chips, followed by Japanese chips and German chips, and the moderately priced chips are from Taiwan, China, China. What specific chip is used? What kind of effect should be achieved? Before making a purchase, it is important to have a clear understanding in mind.
② LED packaging
Divided into resin encapsulation and silicone encapsulation. The price of resin packaging is cheaper because its heat dissipation performance is slightly inferior, while everything else is the same. The heat dissipation performance of silicone packaging is good, so the price is slightly higher than that of resin packaging.

③ Consistency of LED color
At present, there are many packaging factories in China, with a total of thousands of them, big and small, depending on their strength. There are many small packaging factories that do not have color separation machines, so they either do not use color separation or outsource, which makes it difficult to ensure quality. LEDs that have not undergone spectral and color separation have poor color consistency, and the effect of lighting them up on LED strips is not as good. Of course, the price difference is also relatively large.
④ LED welding effect
There are two types of assembly for LED light strips: manual welding and machine welding. Manual welding is done using a soldering iron and the most primitive method. The products produced by this method of operation have two problems: firstly, they have an unsightly appearance (inconsistent solder joint sizes, excessive flux residue, uneven solder joints, LED packaging being burned out, etc.), and secondly, poor electrostatic protection measures have led to many LED chips being broken down, resulting in a slight or no light when powered on.
Machine soldering is different. Machine soldering uses reflow soldering for soldering, which not only results in a beautiful appearance of the product after soldering (consistent size of solder joints, smooth solder joints, no solder residue, and intact LED packaging), but also avoids the phenomenon of chips being burned out by static electricity. Meanwhile, the position and orientation of the LED are quite aesthetically pleasing. This can be directly seen from its appearance.

⑤ FPC material
FPC is divided into two types: rolled copper and coated copper. Coated copper is relatively cheaper, while rolled copper is more expensive. The solder pads of copper-clad laminates are prone to detachment during bending, while rolled copper does not.
⑥ Certification, Patent
Has FPC undergone environmental certification, UL certification, and LED patents. Certified and patented products are more expensive, while those without are cheaper.
⑦ Brightness of LED
The prices of LEDs with different brightness levels are different, and the price difference between ordinary brightness and high brightness LEDs is quite significant.
⑧ Color of LED
Different colors result in different prices. Due to the difficulty in color matching and spectral separation, white and green are priced higher than other colors; Red, yellow, blue and other colors are relatively easy to separate and have good consistency, so the price is slightly cheaper. Special colors such as purple, brown, etc. are the most expensive due to color matching reasons.
⑨ Size of LED
LEDs of different specifications and sizes have different prices. The price difference between LED 0603 and LED 1210 (i.e. 3528) is significant; And the price difference between 1210 and 5050 LED specifications is another step.
